Cemetery

The Ponto Lake Cemetery is owned and maintained by Ponto Lake Township. It is located on State Highway 84 just East of Ponto Lake and South of Island Lake.

History of the Cemetery

The cemetery property for the first addition was donated by Ora and Edna Siltman in the late 1890's. The first burial was of John H Siltman who died of typhoid feve

Fees and Charges

The cost of a burial plot is $300 if you reside in the township at the time of purchase and $850 if you live outside the township. There also are fees for opening the grave that is the responsibility of the person/funeral home handling the burial. Private Burials

Due to the increased practice of families burying a deceased family member in a private service, instead of having the Funeral Home assist with the burial, it is very important that the family inform the Ponto Lake Cemetery Administrator when a burial occurs.
